It is with great excitement that we report the official appointment of the Dawson Region Planning Commission! The Yukon and Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in governments each nominated three people to the six-person Commission in accordance with the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Final Agreement.
The new Dawson Regional Planning Commission members are:
- John Flynn
- Alice McCulley
- Art Webster
- Dan Reynolds
- Debbie Nagano
- Angie Joseph-Rear
The new Commission will develop a plan for future land use in the region with assistance from the Council. The Commission’s work will be guided by the Terms of Reference 2018 which was agreed to by the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in and Yukon governments.
The Council and staff will help with the training and orientation process in the coming months to prepare the new commission for the task that lies ahead. We will also provide technical support during the development of the Recommended Plan.
