This conference was organised by a committee of people interested in northern planning. The committee had representation from the Council for Yukon First Nations, the Yukon Government, the Government of the Northwest Territories, the Planning Institute of British Columbia, the Alberta Professional Planning Institute as well as the Yukon Land Use Planning Council. The Council is mandated under Yukon Land Claims Agreements and helps Government, Yukon First Nations and Regional Planning Commissions coordinate their efforts to conduct regional land use planning.

The committee contracted Lesley Cabott to be the Conference Organiser. Several staff members of the Council and subcontractors also worked towards putting on a great conference.
