Traditional Knowledge Circle
The TK Circle brings together Indigenous knowledge holders, planners, and community representatives to ensure that traditional knowledge is meaningfully integrated into regional land use planning. This initiative supports culturally respectful approaches to stewardship and strengthens the link between planning processes and Indigenous worldviews.
Our work is guided by Chapter 11 of the Umbrella Final Agreement, which establishes a process for developing land use plans that apply to both settlement and non-settlement land.
Recent Recomendations
YLUPC Recommends Ongoing Commissions
The Council recommends that regional land use planning commissions remain in place once a plan has been approved for each region. Consistent with this recommendation, the Council recommends that the North Yukon Planning Commission and the Peel Watershed Planning Commission be re-established.
