The Final Recommended North Yukon Land Use Plan is a revised version of the March 2008 Recommend Land Use Plan. This is the Commission’s final submission to the Yukon and Vuntut Gwitchin governments. The Parties will now consider the Final Recommended Plan for approval. A letter of transmittal, included with the document, describes the major revisions and their rationale. The land use plan provides management direction for Yukon public lands and Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation settlement lands, outside of existing Protected Areas, Special Management Areas, and the community of Old Crow. The Final Recommended Plan discusses land management concepts, landscape management units, land use designation, and a range of general recommendations. New protected areas for Whitefish wetlands and the Summit Lake – Bell River corridor are proposed. A land designation option for future consideration in the North Yukon Land Withdrawal is also provided. The document is formatted to print double sided on 8.5” x 11” paper.
